Energy Projects, All in a Day’s Work

Sustainable energy projects are becoming routine, as indicated by the low news value of two stories that have come across this week.

In Wales, government regulators green-lighted an inland wind farm, said to be the largest of its kind to date. Yesterday, a 50-megawatt solar power plant went online in southern Nevada.

Projects like these are too small to draw the public’s attention, but to make up for their small scale, they are coming along at a faster pace than we have ever seen. The number of major electric generating stations could triple in the next ten years, resulting in a more stable and less fragile electric infrastructure.
